Te Ara Mahi staff come from a range of backgrounds and life experiences. We understand the needs of people with barriers to employment who are looking for meaningful employment or training.
Our staff have experience and qualifications in employment support, psychology, counselling, and social work. All Te Ara Mahi staff have a commitment to providing support that is professional, respectful, friendly and down to earth.

Pete has worked in mental health for almost 30 years and co-founded Te Ara Mahi in 2005. Pete has had a diverse professional life. His qualifications are mostly science-based and he has a Diploma in Supported Employment. Pete now lives in Dunedin, working remotely to manage the business functions of the organisation.

Moira has worked in the disability and employment sectors for many years as a job coach, career counsellor and job broker. A co-founder and Director of Te Ara Mahi since 2005, Moira has a Diploma in Supported Employment and a depth of experience in supporting jobseekers achieve their goals. Currently her focus is on Quality, ensuring our service is delivered to high standards, and supporting our talented team of Employment Specialists.

Beth joined TeAM in 2013 and has psychology and management qualifications. Beth is responsible for the day-to-day running of the TeAM service, including managing workforce development, referrals as well as all aspects of IPS and business management.

Maria joined TeAM in 2020 and enjoys connecting with people to find ways to support their employment goals. Maria has a background in the creative industries, managing people in non-profit organisations, tutoring adult learners as well as experience from Early Childhood Education and Community Support Work. Maria has a Bachelor of Design qualification and is working towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Human Resources Management) and a Health and Wellness qualification.

Chris joined TeAM in 2018 and has a varied employment history, including; professional cookery, warehousing and logistics, bottling line management and youth work.
Chris has a Diploma in psychology and is working towards a degree.
Chris is also involved in the Top of the South Film Society.

Ben began his journey with TeAM in 2020 after working as a support worker for school-leavers with an intellectual disability . Ben really enjoys all aspects of connecting with people and helping others in the community. He brings experience from glacier guiding, volunteering with at risks teens and trades /industry.
